School levies will be needed to cover almost the entire cost of seven schools. The fees so far set for the developer per home are equivalent to a miniscule $3,000 per home.  The cost per student for a school is over $35,000 each. Even worse, the developer will not have to pay this fee if the taxes to pay for school construction are not passed by the voters.

“Growth not paying for Growth”:  The MPDs are not planned to pay for themselves–taxes will go up to pay for utilities, schools, roads. The City’s financial analysis shows it will be in the RED indefinitely.

Location:  Three schools are sited in the Rural Area, enabling adjacent Urban development. By definition, an MPD should contain schools, as well as other needed infrastructure, within its own boundaries.
